One morning in January 2026, I woke up and everything was covered in snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was Romeo\u2019s first time seeing it. At first, he was a little unsure \u2014 but within minutes, he was running around, catching snowflakes and exploring like it was the best thing ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I did what any photographer would do\u2026 I grabbed my camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The challenge of photographing a kitten<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Photographing a kitten is not easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They don\u2019t sit still. They don\u2019t pose. And they definitely don\u2019t wait for perfect lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Romeo was moving constantly \u2014 jumping, running, turning his head every second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So instead of trying to control the moment, I followed him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Camera & settings (simple and effective)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
For this shoot, I used my Canon 24\u201370mm f\/2.8<\/strong> \u2014 a perfect all-round lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My settings were simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
Aperture: f\/3.4<\/strong> (to keep the background soft)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
ISO: low<\/strong> (thanks to natural daylight)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The most important thing? \ud83d\udc49 Focus on the eyes. Always.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the eyes are sharp, the image works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
My biggest tip: use burst mod<\/strong>e<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019re photographing animals \u2014 use burst mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Take multiple shots in a second. Because that one perfect moment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s gone before you even realize it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t need a fancy location<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
This shoot wasn\u2019t in a forest. Not in the mountains. Not in a styled studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83d\udc49 It was just on my balcony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that\u2019s the point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t need a luxury location to create beautiful images. You need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

good timing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
a strong sense of framing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
and the ability to move with your subject<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This series wasn\u2019t planned. It just happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
